Przemkowski Landscape Park is situated in the north-east part of the Dolnośląskie Forest (W Poland). For several years we have been monitoring the wolves here. We collect information on population, reproductive status, habitat use, as well as the diet of wolves and their impact on wild ungulates. The field work involved a group of our members, among which the most active are: Zbigniew Skibinski, Slawomir Mendel and Robert Dobosz.
We have finished a next Large Carnivore Seminar for 10 students of the Animal Management from the Wiltshire College, UK. Seminar was held in the Western Carpathians (S Poland). During a workshop we had a opportunity to track wolves and lynx, as well as many other mammal species.
A new scientific paper on Polish wolves entitled "Analyses of least cost paths for determining effects of habitat types on landscape permeability: wolves in Poland" and elaborated by specialists from the Mammal Research Institute Polish Academy of Sciences(Dr. Maren Huck, Prof. Włodzimierz Jędrzejewski, Tomasz Borowik and Prof. Bogumiła Jędrzejewska) and the Association for Nature "Wolf" (Dr. Sabina Nowak and Dr. Robert Mysłajek) is available online at: http://www.springerlink.com/content/xp8u4748276811j4/ It will appear soon in the "Acta Theriologica".
